Peach, Gray and White Wedding Ideas

Once Ally was engaged to Mark, the wedding she had always dreamed of having completely changed. Discovering all the wedding blogs and pinterest can really do that to a girl. Her dream wedding took on a new shape. Ally made everything from her cake topper to the bride and bridal party hangers, along with a ton of other projects. A truly crafty bride!

Before she made any decisions or started new projects she, of course, always made sure to include Mark, even though he usually told her to do whatever she liked best! Now that is love. You can see more peach, gray and white wedding ideas in the full gallery here all photographed by Blair Nicole Photography.

From The Bride:
The owl locket on my bouquet  above(my grandmother used to collect anything, and everything “owl”) had pictures of my 3 grandparents who are no longer with us. It was very important to me to “have them with me” on my wedding day. The “arch” we were married under was built by my dad, that was so special to me.

The colors for our wedding changed several times, but I ultimately chose peach and grey because I thought they were so beautiful together. I chose a “wild flower” type of theme for the flowers because I thought that would look so beautiful with the outdoor and barn settings. The above “arch” we were married under was built by my dad, that was so special to me.

Mark and I are very simple/casual people, so I wanted our cake to reflect that, nothing too fancy or over the to We both love country music so having our wedding at,  Strawberry Farms Golf Club was perfect for us! We wanted our wedding to feel like a more formal, backyard BBQ with dancing, family and friends!

My mom made all of the burlap runners that were placed on all the tables. My mom found all of the vintage silverware that we used on our sweetheart table, and my dad engraved them with all the little sayings that were on them.

I  made a lot of “detail pieces” myself: burlap covered “MR” “MRS” on our sweetheart table, initial cake toppers, chalkboard menu and welcome sign, both my garters, wooden chalkboard hearts hanging from the bridesmaid bouquet mason jars, The “Bride”, “Maid of Honor” and “Bridesmaid” dress hangers, the “thank you” chalkboard signs and banner, the chalkboard cookie jars, the flower girl basket and ring bearer pillows, the card basket, escort cards, initials hanging from barn doors.

Mark and I are very simple/casual people, so I wanted our cake to reflect that, nothing too fancy or over the top.  A cake from French’s Pastry Bakery was the perfect selection with a rustic initial cake topper and covered in soft pink roses, baby’s breath and dahlias. Set perfectly on a homemade cake stand made by the bride’s father. Surrounded by photos of her Grandparents. It was very important to Ally to have them with her on her wedding day.

Elegant and Glamorous Barn Wedding

Our next wedding is a perfect example of how you can have an elegant and glamorous affair at any wedding venue. Whether it be your own backyard or a charming rustic barn. Case in point: Nathan and Kayla’s elegant and glamorous barn wedding. Their barn wedding was packed with vintage details in  shades of whites, soft  pinks, and our favorite sparkly gold.  You can see more of this Canadian barn wedding in the full gallery, all photographed by Debra Eby.

Read on to hear more from Kayla on advice, tips and her favorite wedding moments. One tip she shares that we could not agree more with is hiring a an experienced wedding planner and choosing a photographer that shares your creative style. Great advice!

From The Bride-
Our advice to those planning now is to keep the main thing the main thing. I am so glad in the midst of choosing table settings, flower arrangements, organizing caterers and running around we took the time to read marriage books together, talk about the future, seek counsel from our pastors and ultimately prepare for our life ahead. Marriage is truly the best part!

I highly recommend an experienced wedding planner, they will be a life saver in helping relieve stress from all the little details. Also, choose a photographer that shares your creative style. Our photographer Debra  made the day! We were so pleased to see our wedding captured through her lens!

Special Details:
The transportation was all my husband. My hubby and his dad love old cars and were able to set us up with 3 muscle cars. The look of sheer joy on Nate’s face as we took off – zooming down back roads on our way to the reception was totally worth it … even if I did have to sweep the burnt rubber off my dress.

Having our guests write us ‘Love Notes’ was such a rewarding idea. You’ll be amazed at the heartfelt words people will share, it was a favourite part of coming back from our Honeymoon. These are words we will revisit often and keep for many years to come.

With so many of my singer/songwriter pals all in one venue I couldn’t help but incorporate them into the day. Our guests were delighted with the concert of our talented friends from ceremony to reception. There really is something to be said about live music!

Vibrant Pink and Gold Wedding Ideas

Can we all agree that vibrant pink and gold is an ideal color palette for a wedding? Well …. wedding photographer Shalyn Nelson and wedding stylist Nycia Emerson think so. Using vibrant pink tones, corals and sparkly gold tones they created a glamorous outdoor table scape under the trees.

The tables were filled with mismatched lovely antique gold and white vases, filled with vibrant florals found in spring and summertime – fresh beautiful peonies, garden roses and other luscious blooms. We also must say that we love how they folded napkins to look like giant bows. Super duper cute! See more fabulous vibrant pink and gold wedding ideas in the full gallery.

The invite wording on the invitations designed by Shalyn Nelson is so clever…. Pssssst! We’re doing that lovey dovey thing where we dress up all nice and say I do and then then tell each other we want to spend the rest of our lives together, and then we put on some fancy ring and take pictures and drink some bubbly and party with our family and friends. You should so come, it will be a riot. How fun is that?
