How To Make A Pie Dessert Table

Love the idea of cupcakes and candy, but want a little something different at your wedding?  Well … if you are a pie lover and let’s face it who’s not?  Treat your guests to a good ol’ fashioned Pie Bar! Complete with all your favorite pies from the perfect apple pie to a decadent french silk chocolate pie. You could even provide mini cherry pie cups or fruit tarts. The options are endless.

The girls at A Savvy Event put together some tips and tricks on how to create a pie dessert table with only a few items. Look out because your guests might be wanting to skip dinner and go straight for dessert.

1. Step One – Sample Lots of Pies

Find the best Pie in town! This may take a little research, but who wouldn’t mind sampling a few pies! Bring a few friends and family along as you visit different local bakeries. Keep in mind that it’s nice to offer a variety of flavors and sizes to your guests. Look for bakeries who may offer homemade specialties or individual pies. If you are a great baker or know a few, you could even enlist family or friends to bake their favorite pies.

1. Step Two – Make Labels

Label cards are necessary to distinguish between the different flavors of pie. This small details is a great way to get creative and personalize your dessert table. You could use the same type and style of your escort cards or menu to create a cohesive feel throughout your entire event. A Savvy Event enlisted Print Your Party to design custom tags and signs and we printed them out themselves to save on costs.

If you have friends or family members help out with the pie table, we are sure they would love it if you wrote their name on the pie label. Aunt Jenny’s Apple Pie would bring out a huge smile and show gratitude.

Step Three – Design Your Table

Decorative Pie Stands are perfect for creating different levels and areas of interest. you could also get creative and use boxes or suitcases or even a vintage pie safe to display your dessert. Feel free to add any other decor items to your table. Think  flowers, pictures or even some custom signs. You can also never go wrong with a great linen!

Step Four – Involve Your Guests

A fun way to involve guests is to have them vote for their favorite pie. Print Your Party designed these way cute cards for guests to write their favorite pie on and comments they had about the pie. A fun activity for guests to get involved in the wedding.

Step Five – Have a Milk Station

What’s a pie without a fresh glass of cold milk and a scoop of ice cream? You can purchase swing top bottles and print out milk labels for that extra special touch. Place in large bowls with ice for guests to enjoy a refreshing glass of milk with their pie. Be sure to have ice cream on hand for guests that prefer their pie a la mode. You can use dry ice to keep it cold. Quick Tip: If you use dry ice to keep the ice cream cold be sure to have it in a steel container or metal bowl. Dry ice is known to crack plastic.

Step Six- To Go Bags

Since it is incomprehensible to leave any pie behind … provide your guests with take away bags or boxes so they can enjoy their slice the next morning. Fresh pie and a big glass of milk is always great breakfast!

  12. Those pies look delicious. I really wish more weddings that I attended would have pies instead of the dreaded wedding sculpture (cake). Wedding cakes frequently look good but almost never taste good. Pies are much better. Perhaps someone who is creative with baking can start a new trend: decorative and delicious wedding pies!

My friends and I actually purchased our wedding cake stands from a woman who makes beautiful cake stands with removable cake skirts. Seems that most bakers only provide those boring looking plain cake rounds to display your cake…why spend so much money on a gorgeous cake to just put it on a dull piece of cardboard? You can buy the stand kit I think it’s called and it comes with a stand, a cake skirt and matching flower and ribbon for only $65!!! She has a good selection of fabric skirts and crystal ones too. The best thing about this cake stand is you can change the skirt over and over to match every event! This is the stand I purchased. Check her out on cakedress.com!

  24. Amazon aims to focus on customer experience through offering a
wide array of products at low prices at the most
convenient possible way. The service offered by them depends on the client’s
needs, thus helping in the generation of higher
income for your business. More importantly, I certainly didn’t
know how to do this online, aside from making the basic Kijiji and Craigslist ads.
