Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Champagne was served, Chandeliers hanging and glittery gold accents were everywhere. A truly glamorous event put together by event designer extraordinaire Brooke Keegan. She pulled out her magic wand and put together a glamorous surprise backyard bridal shower for her friend Megan. The entire event was filled with all of Megan’s favorite things -from her favorite colors of pink and gold to her favorite food – nachos. We can only imagine how special Megan felt when she saw all of her friends there to celebrate and surprise her.
You may want to grab a pad and paper to jot down a few notes, because Brooke shares how tips and trick on to put together a memorable bridal shower for your best friend. All this prettiness was photographed by Troy Grover Photographers at a private residence in Newport Beach. Fancy fancy is all we have to say.
From Brooke:
Invitations – We sent out the invitations 8 weeks prior to the shower because many of her friends flew in from Seattle. I wanted to give them enough time to plan their travel. If most guests are local, 4-6 weeks is the appropriate time to send them out.
All of the watercolor paper goods were carefully thought out and designed . Personalized labels that matched the champagne bottles were tied around a water color type ribbon with guest names written on them, giving the table an even more custom feel. The sequin linen, gold accents and beautiful crystal chandeliers created such a gorgeous atmosphere. The florals were absolutely stunning, thanks to Sunny and her team at White Lilac Inc.
Megan is a fashionista that works in the Nordstrom Corporate offices in Seattle. Because of her frequent work and personal trips to Southern California, she has gained a great group of friends here. So we thought, what better way to surprise her with an unexpected Bridal Shower then on one of her quick weekend trips down South. She loves pink, gold and sparkly things, so I had to incorporate those three elements into the design. The sequin linen, gold accents and beautiful crystal chandeliers created such a gorgeous atmosphere.
We love this idea and it really could easily be incorporated at any memorable event. Brooke created a 52 balloon chandelier that had meaningful photos hanging from the bottom of. Of course using gold balloons with light pink string.
I also had a custom champagne flute made just for her. Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label Champagne is Megan’s favorite so it was served and all the guests had a half a bottle flute as a favor to take home. We had small gold favor boxes filled with Sour Patch Kids, as well as a Sour Patch Kid candy station and ate from an extensive Gourmet Nacho Buffet with all of her favorite toppings. All of Megan’s favorite things. The gorgeous cake was brought out later in the evening, which was her favorite flavor, red velvet and matched the tone of the event.
Not only was Megan surprised, she still can’t believe that this gorgeous event happened in her honor.

Love the balloon chandelier. Tried this at a milestone birthday and it did not work. The double sided tape would not stick to the ceiling at the country club. The photos on card stock weighted the balloons down too much so they would not just float. Even tried taping the balloons together. We ended up hanging the photos from some snowflakes that the club had already hanging up and placed the rest on tables. It looked great in the end. FYI. Check out the ceilings in club with balloon and tape and photo before starting this project. Needs to be a special type of ceiling to stick. Does look beautiful if it works..
