Classically Beautiful Montecito Wedding

There is so much to envy about this classically beautiful Montecito wedding. The striking Amsale wedding gown, the precious gold bow Valentino shoes, the floor length Monique Lhuillier bridesmaid dresses, and not to mention the romantic white and green florals.

The list is endless, but most of all we adore the photographs captured by Pat Moyer Photography. From start to finish we felt like we were with Casey and Shane at their Birnam Wood Golf Club wedding. The precise reason why Pat is part of our Hand-Picked collection. See his Hand-Picked page here. Read on to hear more from the bride and of course click here to see more pretty pictures from Pat.

From The Bride:

The inspiration for our wedding really stemmed from a floral arrangement that my grandmother saw at a luncheon. It had large, soft, cream flowers with eucalyptus leaves. As soon as I saw it, I knew that those were the flowers that I wanted to incorporate. However, more than anything, what was important to me was a feeling that guests would have at the wedding. I wanted them to walk away with a sense of warmth and love. The color palate was one of neutrals – creams, tans, greys, and golds. There were not any specific wedding colors and there wasn’t really a theme as you see in a lot of the blogs right now.

The day of the wedding, the men headed off to Montecito for morning shaves while the girls and I leisurely got ready at my grandmother’s house. We were married out on the 10th fairway of the golf course. The ceremony could not have been more perfect! It had all of the elements that Shane and I wanted and it was really personalized. We received so many compliments on the ceremony the did the night of the wedding and afterward. We were also blessed with absolutely perfect weather. It really, truly could not have been a nicer day!

After the ceremony, Shane and I took a ride on a golf cart with champagne and appetizers for about 10 minutes while the guests headed to the cocktail hour. It was so nice to be able to share a few moments together before the night started. Dinner was held outside on the terrace. I think that the soft and free form flower arrangements, candles and string lighting really created a warm environment for guests to dine and dance. A little later in the night, the bourbon bar and the french fry bar opened and it seemed to be a big hit with the guests.

Afterward, Shane and I agreed that the most touching part of the day was the outpouring of love and support from family and friends – each of whom made a huge effort to share in our wedding day celebration. Had it poured rained or the cake fallen over, it would not have mattered as we were surrounded by our closest loved ones.

You simply must enjoy Casey and Shane’s wedding film documented by Ryan Pettey.

Bright Chevron Wedding Ideas

Some might say that chevron stripes are no longer on trend, but we just can’t stop loving them. They naturally become the center of any wedding theme and really do make such statement. A prime example of their ability to take center stage is in this inspirational shoot from Kickstand Events.

They choose a bold zig-zag fabric that perfectly compliments the bright orange and green florals used in the bouquet and the table top decor. From Kickstand Events:

The inspiration for this shoot came when we (Courtney and Kate of Kickstand Events) were shopping in a local boutique here in downtown Wilmington, NC. We were perusing the goodies and found these delightful candles that reminded us of a Greek vacation; it smelled like sunshine, luxury hotels, and sunscreen. From there we thought, let’s do an inspiration shoot, with our favorite photographer Theo Milo Photography, that would remind one of a vacation in the Mediterranean. Ok, ok, so the venue, Airlie Gardens, isn’t Greece but it’s the closest to the Mediterranean in Wilmington, NC complete with an Intracoastal water view, sculptures, and flowers overflowing from mossy and aged urns. Bright leaf green and bold orange aren’t typically our go-to colors, but does it not make you want a Pina Colada?

We found a gorgeous blond model with sun-kissed skin and bright orange lips to get dressed in a stunning Allure gown from Fountaine Bridals and relax under the weeping Airlie Oak Tree on some of Pomp’s best lounge pieces. Rent-A-Tent provided a lovely hand-made wooden farm table to give the tablescape a rustic, yet modern look. The metal cafe chairs added just the right character to the farm table. Succulents and air plants completed the semi-Mediterranean styled shoot, perfect for any bride who is looking for something bold and that makes a statement.

Spring Engagement Session From Squaresville Studios

Where are you going to capture your engagement session is the first question? The second most popular questions is, “what are you going to wear?” Obviously something cute and obviously something that represents your style. Of course, you also have to seamlessly blend it it all together with your love’s outfit, without looking too matchy-matchy.

We think Cameron and Angela did a marvelous job of putting together their engagement outfits, and pairing it with the bubbles the VW Beatle. See our version of their adorable, relaxed outfits below. Enjoy more of this spring engagement session captured by Dallas wedding photographer, Squaresville Studios in the full gallery.

From Squaresville Studios:

“Oh dear spring. I love you so much. You are a picnic in the park, a picture of the greenest of green grass, you are a warm sweater over a sun dress, a sun kiss on my check, you are a road trip to the countryside, you are the smile on my face when I wake up. Spring you are just so lovely! You are my favorite season.”

With this session I wanted to portray exactly this joyous feeling of spring. I imagined a beautiful tree with branches reaching to the ground, a vintage car and a beautiful couple in love. I chose Angela & Cameron for this session and although they are not engaged…yet.. they were the absolute perfect couple for it. Their love really shines through in all those images.
