Cavallo Point Wedding: Elegant Celebration with Golden Gate Views

About the venue

There are so many things to love about a wedding at Cavallo Point in Sausalito, where does one begin? “Callippe” has been deemed as one of the top locations for a wedding reception by many planners and brides. A gathering place filled with warmth and casual elegance is a better description of the space as it does not emit the stuffy and overdone vibe that so many hotel ballrooms exude.
The open wood beams in the ceiling, unique lighting elements paired with a fun and usable foyer and inviting patio space filled with fire pits, lounge furniture, and an amazing view seems to open a dialogue between the past and the present, the formal and the informal. When the architects re-purposed this once military fort gymnasium into a grand reception area, I wonder if they knew how many couples would choose to begin their happily ever after here under the spires of the Golden Gate.

Ask the expert

You have to love the powerful statement of a red wedding. This great celebration began with a traditional ceremony in the picture perfect little white chapel, Mission Blue, high on the hillside. Historical architectural elements such as period light fixtures, hard wood wainscoting, and elongated windows are spectacular.
The floral motif of this celebration is bold and beautiful, using rich deep colors that are eye-catching and bring the interior spaces to life. The soft floral arch creates a picture frame around the bride and groom; the bright pops of color capture your attention and when paired with the natural landscape of Manzanita and willow, it creates a perfect cohesion between the natural elements outside and period architecture inside.

I Do Venues wants to recognize the talented team of wedding professionals who helped to make this bride’s dream a reality: Photographer – Sabine Scherer Photography; Designer and Florist – Alicia K Designs; Lighting – Got Light?; General Rentals – Hartmann Studios; Linens – La Tavola Linen; Photobooth – SF Photo Booth.
