  29. 0. Samantha says:

OMG this is GENIUS!! I have really thin hair that makes for a pathetic bun but this DIY made my bun fat and FABULOUS! It was so easy and it gave my worn, old socks a new life. Love this!

  30. 0. Courtney says:

Aaah I LOVE Pinterest its what brought me here i’m literally sitting infront of the computer doing this now I have a feeling this may take a while to get good but I love how its turning out already such a good idea!! Thank you! :D

  31. 0. Kristen H. says:

When I was first learning how to do the sock bun, I was having trouble getting the hair stuck under the sock in order to start rolling. But if you curl the ends a bit with a curling iron, that makes it super-easy!

  32. 0. Sarah says:

I wish I could show y’all the bad ass sock bun I just did. First time. Nailed it. What a good tutorial!

  33. 0. celeste says:

Ive watched other tutorials with no luck but I got it first try with this. Love it!

  34. 0. Lisa says:

Also if you slightly dampen the hair before rolling and leave it in a few hours or overnight, you’ll end up with beautiful curls when you take it out!

  35. 0. Holly says:

This was so slick! I needed a classy, elegant look & this fit the bill -thanks for the detailed tutorial -worked like a charm!

  36. 0. Deanna says:

  41. 0. shyanne g says:

I quit. Every sock bun tutorial I’ve tried just doesn’t work on my ridiculous hair. It’s thick, wavy and has a few long layers that prevent me from doing anything, with or without appliances. Heck, even hair stylists think my hair is stubborn! Sigh. I was so hopeful that this one would work :(

  42. 0. anthony says:

    why?

They also have giant round scrunchi-like things for sock buns at H&M for $3.50!

  56. 0. Alexis says:

Great step by step photos and instructions but I have to admit I had to give up using just a sock to pull off this look. I have fine hair with shorter layers and when I was using just a sock my bun was flat and not at all voluminous….but luckily a friend told me about The Hunny Bun and I was able to achieve such a fabulous bun! They have 3 different sizes and colors so you get the bun you need for your hair type/style. I use the Medium Hunny Bun…all the time! Check them out and save yourself some time and frustration trying to make the sock give you a perfect bun! At only $10, it’s well worth it! Good luck ladies! :)

  62. 0. Alexis says:

Gracie- I’m tellin’ ya girl- don’t go to your salon with a sock! hehe Try The Hunny Bun at home and see if you can recreate this look yourself!! So worth the $10 and it works!! Good luck and congrats on your confirmation!
