“I’m a simple girl who simply wanted to marry the most amazing man I’ve ever known. As a wedding photographer, I’d seen so many beautiful weddings and so many gorgeous wedding blog posts. I knew I wanted to filter through everything I’d seen and create a vision that was truly ours. When Aaron and I thought about our wedding day, we both wanted small and classic.
We decided to call it an elopement…but with our immediate family and wedding party to celebrate with us. Best idea ever! Since we decided on such a small scale wedding, we were able to really invest in the details that were most important to us. (It was so special to me to go pick out Jimmy Choo wedding shoes with my mom!) The few family members and friends who surrounded us on our wedding day are precious to us and we wanted to give them a beautiful night at our wedding.
We made a few simple decisions that helped make the whole experience a happy one for our loved ones: things like staying away from DIY, writing special notes to each person, and having the world’s most amazing dinner! I’ll never forget the joy we felt on our wedding day. It was perfect because we enjoyed the beauty of the day, and kept our focus on the most important thing: our marriage. Our tiny wedding allowed us to savor our first hours as husband and wife, and share it with the people we love the most. I couldn’t have asked for more.”
