It’s Costume “Jewelry Not Diamonds” That’s a Girl’s Best Friend
Every woman likes to look like a million dollars, and for years, that meant having a budget that matched. But the ability to get affordable couture jewelry, whether it’s for your wedding day or just for fun, is no longer a fairy tale.

Thanks to the availability of high-end, man-made stones, brides can look like movie stars on their wedding day. Since the quality level has improved so much in recent years, no one will guess the origins of the sparkling diamond earrings or lustrous pearls. Below are a few of our favorites.

Even celebrities love getting Hollywood-style glamour at affordable prices. As Franklin & Bash and former NYPD Blue star Garcelle Beauvais explained, For me, wearing costume jewelry is a no-brainer. These days, the costume jewels are just as beautifully crafted and sparkle sometimes even more than the real stuff, and if you happen to lose one it’s OK.

1. Art Deco Vintage Drop earrings | 2. Elegant stud earrings with a vintage flair | 3. vintage chandelier earrings | 4. Glimmering oval stud earrings |  5. Vintage brooch | 6. Classic crystal stud earrings | 7. Classic crystal drop earrings | 8. Stackable bracelet 9. Vintage chandelier earrings

Because these simulated gems are beautiful and reasonably priced, a bride can do more than splurge on just one over-priced item for her wedding day. Instead, a wedding jewelry set including earrings, a bracelet and necklace or broach are completely within the realm of a reasonable budget. Plus, there will be money left over to treat the bridal party to the perfect accents to their outfits for the special occasion.

Tejani’s bridal jewelry line offers flexibility in style. A bride can choose wedding earrings adorned with faceted crystals, man-made pearls and pave cubic zirconia studs. There’s a range of options to suit every taste, whether a classic or vintage look is desired or if a woman is looking for the perfect piece to make a statement on her special day.

Like natural diamonds, stones come in all different kinds of cuts, from round to oval to pear shapes. And the settings come in a variety of finishes including silver, gold, antique silver and antique gold.

And to top it all off, the diamonds that Tejani uses are conflict-free. Buying man-made means that the purchase does not support war-zone mined stones. These jewels can be worn with a clean conscience.

Browse Tejani’s jewelry and save 10% on your entire purchase with code WEDCHICK10, now through 8/31/11. Offer excludes sale and bridesmaid items.

Light Hearted Yet Elegant Alabama Wedding

It is so refreshing when we see a wedding hand-crafted by a bride that is doable. Lindsay, the bride, never considered herself a particularly crafty person, but like a lot of you out there the wedding DIY  bug hit her and she begin to plan and craft.

She took on many of the thoughtful touches such as the guest book, programs, menus, seating chart, signage, toss cones, welcome bags and table numbers. All of this with a full time job. Read more about their elegant Alabama wedding by clicking here. Be sure to see the full wedding gallery photographed by Jessica Wright Photography.

One idea that we think you might like is in lieu of sending the guests home with a wedding favor, you can make a donation to your favorite charity. Lindsay and Rob honored their guests by making a contribution to The American Red Cross in support of the Alabama Tornado Relief fund.
