Hand Crafted and Eco Friendly Wedding Ideas

For those of you looking for eco friendly ideas for your reception, you have to see this inspirational photo shoot from Huntington Beach, California, sent to us by Allison of Studio 28 Photo. Allison set out to create an elegant tablescape using only recycled materials, and the result is truly unique and beautiful. She started with a warm fall color palette to set the tone. The charming plates, silverware, glasses, jars, and napkins are all antique and thrift store finds, gathered over several months of hunting for the perfect items. Even the delectable pie is made from organic berries from the local farmer’s market.

The printed materials, created by Ashley Zwar, owner of the boutique paperie Beloved Indeed, were all made using recycled paper products. Ashley hand crafted every piece using only reused and re-purposed materials from around her home, such as brown paper bags from her recycling bin, magazine clippings, vintage photos, old books, and shredded ribbon from packaging in her mail. We especially love the the fabric flower made from an old shirt found in a Goodwill bag. By creating the pieces in this way, each is completely unique — no two are exactly the same, and the environmental impact is dramatically reduced.

We hope this charming sustainable photo shoot will inspire you to reuse and repurpose items for your own green wedding! Click here to view all of the photos from this shoot.

  7. Thank you for sharing these amazing eco-wedding ideas. So inspiring!

  8. Love the personalization with the magazine clippings. I used to give gifts of wine or champagne bottles decorated in magazine clippings to create a personal collage message for my friends. They would then reuse the bottle as a candle stick holder.
