1. Piece of Felt
2. Piece of Fabric
3. Needle & Thread
4. Scissors
5. Magnetic Snap Closure

1. Cut a 10″x8″ piece of fabric as well as a 10″x8″ piece of felt (for the clutch lining), making the top ends of the fabric and felt bow shaped.

Place the fabric piece and felt piece right sides together, with the outer or printed side of fabric facing the outside.  Fold the two pieces up on one end 3/4 of the way, so that the felt is folded upwards and facing out.

Stitch the two pieces together along the top, bottom and sides, making an “envelope”.  The clutch is now sewn together but is “inside-out”.  Now, flip the clutch right side out.

Sew the magnetic closure parts onto the fabric upper and base. Embellish with flowers, cute buttons, a vintage brooch, etc. to personalize your bridal clutch!

Hey, I tried making this for my fiance, but you left out 2 of the most difficult parts… the flower, and the clasp… what gives? I was able to make a flower that I liked, but the clasp (magnetic snap) you used requires that you punch a hole through the fabric… that would mean it would show through on the front flap. Can you help?
