We are suckers for anything hand made. There is something incredibly special about weddings with beautiful details that are put together with a little bit of inspiration and a whole lot of love. So, when Katie Lewis Photography, Inc. and some talented Fargo, North Dakota wedding vendors gathered together to show brides and grooms how to make their barn yard wedding extra special we jumped on it. Most everything you see here was put together by Katie.
Katie did an over the top job arranging the adorable flowers in vintage mason jars which is always a crowd pleaser. She called on her Grandmother to whip up some homemade pies (apple, cherry & lemon meringue) and the individual pies-in-a-jar (strawberry) were all made with love by her Granny. Thanks to her mom for providing the silverware and china. Just a great example that you can get a little help from your friends and family to pull off something incredible.

Awesome Job! I like the idea of having pie instead of cake.
Finally had the privilege to work with Katie Lewis a couple of weeks ago…i am a wedding decorator & we did this amazing wedding @ the zoo, under a tent….Katie’s photography is magical, artistic, unique & stunning…all of this & she is so young, she obviously has the soul of a much older & wiser person….simply…she rocks.

Awwww, some really beautiful ideas…
This looks fabulous! I love everything about it. This is without a doubt my dream wedding. :)
Handmade decorations are SO personal and cost effective at a wedding! Too often weddings can be so cookie cutter. I love the eye that Katie has to put together such a remarkable (untradition) wedding shoot. Wow!
Love these ideas! The tabletop with the mason jars so cute!
Beautiful flower arrangements. I love the inclusion of berries in the boutonniere.
LOVE this! Such a great example of having budget-friendly details without compromising style. I’ll be dreaming about this one all day!
Awesome pictures!! Looks like a beautiful wedding! What type of flower is that large pale yellow flower!? I’m going crazy trying to figure it out!! Any help ladies!?
I love every single one of these ideas! So lovely and so clever! I’m dying over the hanging carnations.
Very nice Katie!! well done.
Love it, Love it, Love it!!!!!
@Jennifer – That large flower is actually a type of peony. I had never seen a peony like that before but that is what the florist told me when I picked it up!
How sweet! Loving the vintage details and the colors.
i am getting married next june, and i was going to use an arbor, but now i have seen the hanging carnations i am going to use that as the backdrop instead. its so me.
@Michelle – With the carnations, if you do put them in the test tubes you will need to wrap the fishing wire (or whatever you choose to hang them with) on the tube but also wrap it around the base of the head of the flower as well. Otherwise the tube will just tip over. That was something that took us a bit to realize!
So do you not really need the flora test tubes? Would they be ok without them and not wilt?
